Make your ATEC pitching machine portable!

For the past five years, I have utilized ATEC pitching machines at our facility, which features two full-sized tunnels. Each tunnel is equipped with an ATEC MX3, catering to approximately 25 different users daily. A common challenge we encounter is the need for each user to adjust the pitch distance, which can be particularly difficult due to the machines' mobility on turf surfaces. Typically, moving these machines requires the assistance of two individuals, and even that can prove to be a significant challenge.

In response to this issue, I undertook a project last year to develop a solution. I designed a custom base that facilitates easy maneuverability of the machines, complete with locking wheels to ensure stability during use. This innovation has proven to be a transformative addition to our facility, resulting in increased rentals, reduced maintenance on the machines, and enabling even youth players to reposition the machines with ease.
